Intro to Stone Setting and Engraving
In this introduction to stone setting and Engraving workshop, you’ll spend a week learning from top Italian master engraver and stone setter Enrico Spillare.
Introducing you to the workings of the microscope and the pneumatic engraver, you’ll set round and oval stones as well as learning basic pavè setting using gravers and burs.
We’ll also venture out on a private wine tasting tour, spend a day in Venice touring San Marco Basilica, and absorbing local culture as well as savoring scrumptions regional Italian food. Get more details on the drop down menu on the right.

Vicenza, Italy…
Situated between Venice and Verona, Vicenza is one of the most important jewelry hubs in Italy and home to the famous architect Palladio as well as to Italy’s first museum dedicated exclusively to jewelry.
Alongside this 5 day workshop, you’ll be able to revel in the Italian culture by enjoying an early morning or late evening walk around town, savoring the local cuisine, venturing off to a private wine tasting excursion, visiting the Jewelry Museum of Vicenza, and spending our last day in Venice filled with experiences you’ll never forget!

Intro to Engraving and Stone Setting Faceted Stones.
First things first, you’ll learn how to use a microscope, how to use the GRS GraverSmith, and sharpen and use gravers, which is the critical skill to have for engraving and stone setting.
In this fast paced workshop you’ll learn how to set square and oval faceted stones in a bezel as well as a prong setting. Not only that but you’ll learn the basics of pavè setting and come away with a finished sterling silver necklace.
This workshop is chock full of information and techniques to add your skill set.

Italian master engraver and stone setter, Enrico works with the world’s top jewelry brands as well as trains and instructs other top stone setters to level up their skills.
