Join me for the Metalsmiths in Florence workshop to get inspired and learn a little (or a lotta) something.

Monica Cardone, host and organizer of Metalsmiths in Florence alloys 18k gold with a large torch under the watchful eye of her colleagues.

I also make cool jewelry…

I do. I make jewelry with silver, gold, and some other fun things like diamonds, or sea glass and sea stones and I love it. Here’s a picture of me in Italy alloying some delicious 18k yellow gold while my buddies Giovanni and Margherita watch to make sure I don’t burn my eyelashes off.

More about me

Monica Cardone, host of Metalsmiths in Florence, surrounded by a group of metalsmiths that attended the metalsmithing workshop and her colleagues.

Not only do I love making jewelry, but I also love hosting jewelry making workshops in Italy.

It’s the combination of helping metalsmiths learn a new skill to add to their jewelry making skill set, as well as sharing the scrumptiousness of Italy that gives me all the chills. This is not your ordinary jewelry course…we live like locals and dive into Florence’s culture. Join me already, would ya?

Monica Cardone, metalsmith and metals instructor, shows the process of drilling a hole for flush setting a small faceted stone on her jewelers bench.

…and I teach too!

People kept asking, so I said yes. Solid Basics of metalsmithing for beginners, and an intermediate jewelry making course about heavy bezels and tools used. Other topics added as they come to me.

Don’t be shy, I’m a nice lady.
